Class Overview

Art in Nature: Drawing Intensive (High School)

God has created the most intricate and detailed works of living art—moving sculptures of majesty and wonder that surround us in nature. Art in Nature: Drawing Intensive is a high school–level course designed to develop strong, refined drawing skills through focused study of God’s creation.

In this in-depth class, students will explore drawing using a variety of media, including graphite pencils, charcoal, colored pencils, pastels, and watercolor pencils. Through guided instruction and hands-on practice, students will learn to observe carefully, render form and texture, understand value and color, and create thoughtful compositions rooted in the beauty of the natural world.

Subject matter will range from the microscopic details of plants, insects, and natural textures to expansive landscapes and sweeping sunsets. As students uncover the finite details woven throughout creation, they will gain a deeper appreciation for the beauty, order, and complexity that point to intelligent design in the universe. This course encourages artistic growth, disciplined practice, and a greater sense of wonder for the Creator’s handiwork. 9th Graders are also welcome in this class. All materials included in the supply fee.
