Instructor: Karen Crowl
Class Overview
Join us as we learn old hymns and contemporary Christian music as a choir. The goal is to learn to sing as a choir (blended voices), not a praise team or solo performances, to learn parts (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) to at least one song, if not more, and to share our music at local senior living facilities towards the end of the semester all while praising Jesus. We will practice proper breathing techniques and warm-ups each week as well. In addition, students will learn the very basics of reading music.
If your student cannot read, cannot attend the full 50-minute class weekly, will knowingly miss weeks of co-op (not referring to unexpected illness), does not want to sing in a choir, or cannot perform at the end of the semester, please do not sign them up for this class. We have a very limited amount of time to learn songs and each student’s part is important. Please be sure to discuss with your student whether or not they actually want to be in choir before signing them up.
