High School American Literature

Using Progeny Press study guides, we will be reading and studying Call of the Wild and To Kill a Mockingbird in this American Literature course.  I will upload the study guides to Basecamp so you can print them directly from there, since I already purchased digital copies.  All you will need to purchase is a copy of each novel, and possibly a binder or folder to keep study guides in.  Students will be expected to come to class each week with their work completed and prepared to discuss in class.  There will be a pre-reading assignment for each book and several short essays.  Students will need to begin reading and completing the study guide two weeks prior to the first class and two weeks after the last class in May.  (That way, they have eight weeks to complete each study guide.)  I will also have other fun activities planned for class in addition to the study guides.  Completing two Progeny Press study guides is equivalent to a half credit for high schoolers.
