Newsroom

We will be putting on our own newscast each week with various topics such as World News, Local News, Weather, etc. Each week we will take the first part of the class period to have students prepare their news segment, then we’ll be performing and videoing the segments to put together a short news reel. The participants will be switching segments each week. I will do my best to have the completed video posted within a day or two.

HOMEWORK ALERT: I will be asking the participants of most segments to find a news story and bring it in with them. (I will also have some topics ready as back-up if someone isn’t prepared). I will post the student segment assignments each week so that parents are aware of student story finding responsibilities.

The class fee will be used to purchase equipment to be used during filming and will be property of the Newsroom class (ultimately, the co-op). Last semester class fees were used to purchase wireless microphones.
